Nigerian players in Europe: Saturday Roundup – Onuachu continues scoring spree

Onuachu continues with his impressive form in front of goal as Genk remains on top of the league table.

Semi Ajayi and West Brom finally get their first league win of the season and have moved out of the relegation zone as a result albeit temporarily.

Ajayi was decent for his side and would be hoping more wins follow soon.

Alex Iwobi having shined at right wing-back last time out was tried out on the left and that didn’t work out with the Nigerian winger failing to really influence the game.

The toffees has lost grasp of a top-4 place and would need to improve if they are not to return to mid-table.

Taiwo Awoniyi played the whole game for Union Berlin in a high scoring draw against Frankfurt. Awoniyi had 2 shots on target but was unable to get on the scoresheet.

Josh Maja started for Bordeaux as they drew away from home to reigning champions, PSG. The 21-year old striker puts in a decent performance and would be happy with the result. Bordeaux now sit 11th place on the league standing.

Zaidu Sanusi has become a mainstay in Porto’s XI as he puts in a decent performance in a hard-fought away win at his former club.

Porto have moved up to 2nd position for the time being as they await results from Braga and Benfica.

Paul Onuachu continues his impressive scoring form netting 2 goals for Genk as they won emphatically away from home to secure the place at the top of the table.
