Koeman should give fringe players a chance
Barcelona are in Kyiv as they look to continue their impressive form in the Champions league. While the Spanish giants have struggled domestically, they’ve maintained a 100% record in the Champions league.
In the midst of the troubles at the club, this is a chance for Barcelona to get back on track, our next 4 matches give us a chance to experiment and add dynamism to the team (Dynamo Kyiv, Osasuna, Ferencvaros, Cadiz).
Koeman has shown that he is not scared to experiment with Messi and Frenkie out of the match-day squad.
This is a chance for Koeman to steer from the usual and hand starting opportunities to players like Puig, Konrad, Trincao, Alena, Firpo and Braithwaite.
Here is how Barcelona should lineup tonight:
Ter Stegen should start in goal. Lenglet, who is our only available first team central defender will be paired with youth team player, Oscar Mingueza. Dest is the only available option at right back, Firpo should start on the left.
Pjanic should pair Puig at the base of midfield with Coutinho playing in the no 10 role.
Trincao should be afforded a start on the right and Konrad de la Fuente who is a ‘natural left-winger’ should get a chance to prove himself on the left.
Braithwaite should start in number 9.
