Sheffield’s coach, Chris Wilder confirms interest in Folarin Balogun
Sheffield United coach Chris Wilder has confirmed that the club is interested in signing Arsenal’s starlet, Folarin Balogun.
The Blades are looking to purchase a striker after shooting blanks in their opening day 2-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers and the unavailability of Lys Mousset who has undergone surgery on a foot problem.
Due to having a restrictive budget, Sheffield United are targeting promising youngsters on the books of top Premier League clubs, including Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster and Balogun.
Wilder was quoted as saying by Yorkshire Live : “Yeah, we made an enquiry. That’s left with the CEO at our club and at Arsenal.
“We want attributes that suit us at the top of the club and hopefully move us forward”.
Balogun’s future has been a topic of serious debate in recent months since refusing to sign a new deal, with his current contract expiring in June 2021.
The 19-year-old scored 10 goals in 15 matches in the Premier League 2 last season.
