Everton puts Alex Iwobi up for Transfer
According to reports from the UK, Everton are prepared to offload Alex Iwobi in this summer transfer window, a year after signing him from Arsenal.
Iwobi is not the only first team player on the chopping block as Sandro Ramirez, Yannick Bolasie, Mo Besic, Matthew Pennington, Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard and Moise Keane are also linked to exit from the club as Carlo Ancelotti is keen to restore balance to his squad.
The club is looking to balance their books after bringing in James Rodriguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucouré from Real Madrid, Napoli and Watford respectively this summer.
The Nigeria international was missing from the match-day squad against Tottenham Hotspur, leading to speculation that he’s surplus to requirements in the new season.
The Nigerian winger joined Everton for 35 million pounds which includes performance-related variables.
Iwobi had just 3 goal contributions (2 goals, 1 assist) in his debut season at Goodison Park, his lowest tally in a single season since making his professional debut.
Up next on Everton’s fixture list is a League Cup clash with Salford City this evening and if he’s not included in the starting lineup, it is a clear signal that his days at Goodison Park are numbered.
