Ferdinand fears Willian’s arrival might starve Bukayo Saka of game time.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has voiced his concerns about Bukayo Saka being kept out of the starting lineup due to the arrival of Willian from Chelsea.
The veteran winger showed his new club what he is capable of providing two assists in their 3-nil win at Craven Cotttage and the other goal came from a rebound from his shot which was saved by goalkeeper Marek Rodak.
Saka’s prefers to play on the wings in a role that is currently being occupied by Willian, meaning Bukayo Saka would find chances hard to come by, it should also be noted that 72 million signing Pepe is also ahead of Saka in the pecking order.
“Willian has come in and you’ve got to think of the likes of Saka, probably one of their most creative players last season. He’s on the bench,” Ferdinard said on BT Sport.
“Pepe signing, 72 million pounds, so he’s (Willian) added that little bit of class and experience”.
