Brendan Rodgers says Ndidi would do a good job in defense
Leicester City face a huge dilemma in defense with Johnny Evans suspended, Wes Morgan out with a hamstring injury and Filip Benkovic’s availability still uncertain.
The Foxes’ manager, Brendan Rodgers has not ruled out the possibility of Wilfred Ndidi being deployed as a central defender in their league opener against West Brom on Sunday, September 13.
Ndidi could be asked to fill-in in central defense alongside Caglar Soyuncu, a role the Nigerian played in the friendly against Blackburn Rovers last weekend.
On the possibility of Ndidi playing at center back against the Baggies, Rodgers told reporters via Zoom call : “He’s one of the best midfield players in the league, that’s his position. I like to have a midfield who can play in a back three.
“He’s got the attributes, his reading of the game is very good. If I need to play him there, he will do a good job.”
