Nigerian Federation target, Bennetts frozen out at Borussia M’gladbach
There seems to be a dark cloud hanging over the future of Keanan Chidozie Bennetts at Borussia Monchengladbach following comments by the club’s sporting director Max Eberl ahead of the start of the 2020-2021 season.
Eberl refused to rule out the departure of the youngster before the close of the transfer window as the versatile winger has found it difficult to get game-time since his arrival at Borussia-Park from Spurs in 2018.
Bennetts who was nominated for the 2019 Golden Boy has made only appeared for Borussia Monchengladbach’s first team once when he came on as an 89th substitute in a 3-0 win vs Wolfsburg three months ago.
Injuries have stalled the progress of the 21-year old in recent seasons which was why he turned down the chance to represent the Flying Eagles at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.
in Eberl’s words; “It will be tough to find minutes for Michael Lang, Keanan Bennetts and Julio Villalba this season, but there has been no interest as of yet,”.
“Should they remain with us, then they will be valuable members of the squad.”
Keanan Bennetts has a contract with Borussia Monchengladbach until 2022.
