Not signing Neymar and 5 other ways to improve Barcelona

Under Valverde, Barcelona has been barely getting by mostly with Messi’s brilliance. Barcelona are not as feared as they were before, and teams now relish their chances against them. Let’s take a look at how Barcelona can return back to their days of glory
1. Sack Valverde
At this point I don’t believe Valverde can deliver for the Blaugranas and he needs to be replaced. He is mostly winning matches due to Messi’s magic not tactical decisions. He is always cautious, looking to see out narrow wins instead of going for the kill. His substitutions are mostly defensive and most times he leaves it late which has cost the team some games.
2. Bring back Coutinho
Coutinho played out of position for the most of last season and the board apparently decided he wasn’t fit for Barcelona. It was an utterly crazy decision to loan Coutinho especially as he is our most creative midfielder all in a bid to try to bring in Neymar which brings us to the next point
3. Don’t sign Neymar
I know signing Neymar looks like the answer to Barcelona’s problems… but that’s like going back in time. The club should be looking ahead, trying to build for the future. Signing Neymar would just be a temporary fix that would be under pressure to succeed and is dependent on Suarez whose age is telling on him. What seems like the safest bet might end up being disastrous.
4. Fully integrate the young players into the team
A lot of La Masia players should have been integrated into the first team already, below are players that should be playing more;
Carles Perez is 21, and with 2 goals and 3 assists in 10 matches has shown he has what it takes to play for the first team and with more experience he can develop into the player the club needs.
Carles Aleña is 21 also and has been in and out of the first team since 2016 and he still doesn’t have the trust of the manager and he hasn’t messed up per se and would have been a much better player with more first team opportunities. If Aleña was a player in another team, Barcelona would be tripping over themselves to sign him.
Moussa Wague is a 21 year old Senegalese right back who became the youngest African goalscorer in World Cup history when he scored in Senegal’s match against Japan. He has shown he is capable of performing at the top level as he bossed the right wing against Inter Milan and yet he doesn’t have the trust of Valverde.
Jean-Clair Todibo is a 19 year old French centre back who plays well every time he is given a chance yet the club is considering selling him to AC Milan because Valverde is too much of a coward to give him more chances.
Juan Miranda is a 19 year old left back from La Masia. There is no way Miranda would be doing worse than Firpo is doing right now, but rather than giving Miranda that understands the club’s system better a chance, the club opted to spend $18 million plus $12 million in addons to sign Firpo whom might end up leaving the club if it doesn’t work out like Andre Gomes, Alcacer, Arda Turan etc.
5. Sign a left winger
It doesn’t have to be Neymar, and it is better the scouting team does better work so they don’t have to break the bank to sign a high profile player that would come with a lot of expectations and buckle under it. But I’m certain there are gems waiting to be discovered and the scouting team better find them.
6. Please Move on
We need to revamp the squad, the squad needs fresh ideas. When Guardiola came in, he made massive changes and the result was glaring for all to see. A lot of the key players are old and apart from Messi that is always a contender for balon d’Or they don’t have anything to motivate them. Rakitic, Busquets, Suarez, Pique, even Alba have been found guilty of lacking ginger in key matches and except they won’t moan about being benched, they should be replaced.
