Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.
The Gunners will pay an initial £16m for the Greek international, who would become Unai Emery’s second summer signing after landing Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus.
The 29-year-old only had a year remaining on his deal with the German club, with Sven Mislintat scouring the Bundesliga for top talent.
The Telegraph claim that Sokratis will pen a three-year deal at the Emirates.
Arsenal’s next priority will be to lock down Aaron Ramsey on a new deal as he approaches the final year of his current contract, with the Welsh star likely to be able to command £200,000 per week.
