Emery has been reportedly handed extra funds to help revamp the squad.
Emery and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat looked set to receive around £50m to improve their squad this summer.
But Stan Kroenke is said to have agreed to release a further £20m for the pre-sales transfer budget, reports the Telegraph.
The Gunners are chasing at least three new signings over the coming months, focusing mainly of the defence and midfield.
But a goalkeeper is also on the agenda and if possible, an attacker who can operate on the left hand side,” says Football.London
Borussia Dortmund centre-back Sokratis and Freiburg central defender Caglar Soyuncu are targets, while Nice star Jena Seri and Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini are options in midfield.
Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno is also on the agenda at the Emirates.
So the increase in budget will come as a major boost, although some players will still have to be moved on to help fund the size of the overhaul that is planned.
Meanwhile, Seri’s agent has revealed that a move to Arsenal didn’t come to fruition last season as the Gunners aren’t the quickest in the transfer market.
With Arsenal looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of the campaign, former manager Arsene Wenger had met with the Ivorian’s agent last summer in hope of getting a deal done.
Seri’s representative claimed that Wenger wanted a few more departures in his midfield before moving for the 26-year-old due to his limited budget.
“Unfortunately, Arsenal aren’t the quickest when it comes to the transfer market,” he said. “It’s true that I met [Wenger], we spoke about it, he said it could interest him.
“He would have liked there to be more departures in his midfield, because he was aware of the balance of his budget.
“When I got the offer from Barcelona, I let him know about it, but that doesn’t mean they entered the fray.
“Unfortunately it didn’t happen with Barcelona because of an ego problem between them and Nice.”
