Arthur Melo named among Brazil’s back-ups for 2018 World Cup
Gremio midfielder, Arthur who is in line to sign for Barcelona is listed among the 12 players on the backup list for Brazil 2018 World Cup squad.
Arthur, 21, missed out on the main squad but coach Tite does like him — he called him up in October — and he could yet go to Russia if there are any injury problems.
Also on the list are Arthur’s club teammates Maicon and Luan, who was part of the Brazil squad which won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in 2016.
As for La Liga, there’s Spanish representation in the form of Valencia’s Neto, who has been named as backup goalkeeper.
Goalkeeper: Neto (Valencia).
Full-backs: Rafinha (Bayern Munich) and Alex Sandro (Juventus).
Centre-backs: Dedé (Cruzeiro) and Rodrigo Caio (Sao Paulo FC).
Midfielders: Arthur (Gremio), Maicon (Gremio), Rodriguinho (Corinthians), Giuliano (Fenerbahce), Lucas Paquetá (Flamengo) amd Luan (Gremio).
Forward: Dudu (Palmeiras)
