Liverpool hope to seal a £60million move for Nabil Fekir after their Champions League final against Real Madrid this weekend.
The attacking midfielder has been linked with a big-money move to Merseyside for a number of weeks, and appeared to be saying a tearful goodbye to home fans in his last game of the season for Lyon.
But although contact has been made, no deal has been agreed with the French club’s president Jean Michel Aulas — who has insisted: “You will have to be very, very rich to sign Nabil Fekir this year.”
Talks are due to progress next week, though, as the Reds step up their efforts to land Fekir.
The 24-year-old’s form has been so good this season as Lyon finished third in Ligue 1 and got to the Europa League last 16 he may even force himself past a host of stars to claim a place in France’s World Cup starting XI.
