Emery will spend the rest of the week in intensive meetings with the Arsenal hierarchy where they will discuss transfer targets with chief executive Ivan Gazidis.
But Emery will also open the door to players who had struggled under Arsene Wenger and looked as if they could be on the way out.
That could mean another chance for Shkodran Mustafi who looked set to be sold while Saed Kolasinac may also get another opportunity after falling out of favour last term.
Emery has already done a full evaluation of the squad, believes they have been underperforming and will work hard on getting them back on track in training.
Arsenal do have £50m to spend this summer but with a keeper, defender, midfielder and left sided forward on the agenda there will have to be some wheeling and dealing.
That is why Emery has made it clear and impressed the hierarchy by making it clear that he believes several squad members will benefit from his fresh start.
