French giants AS Monaco have completed the signing of Lithuanian midfielder Edgaras Utkus, Lithuanian Football Federation announced on their official website.
The 17-year-old arrives from the Lithuanian National Football Academy, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal at Stade Louis II.
Utkus had undergone a trial with Monaco back in August and he clearly did enough to earn a contract in the Principality.
The French giants have enjoyed plenty of success since they decided to focus on recruiting young and talented footballers, and they clearly expect the Lithuanian youngster to make a similar impact in the future.
Monaco occupy second place in the Ligue 1 standings midway through the season, sitting nine points behind leaders PSG.
