Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard is on the cusps of completing a loan move to French Ligue 1.
French media outlet L’Equipe reports that the 17-year-old Norway is likely to accept an offer from Rennes as he finds his playing time with Real Madrid seriously limited.
Zinedine Zidane has advised the talented midfielder to change clubs and grab a chance to play regularly in order to speed up his development after a disappointing last season with Los Blancos.
Norwegian youngster caused quite a stir long before he even arrived at Santiago Bernabeu with most of the European big clubs expressing interest to sign him. Following his European tour during which he visited several high profile sides, the 17-year-old eventually decided to sign for Real Madrid, which ultimately proved to be a wrong choice.
A move to French side Rennes is likely to do good to the talented youngster as Ligue 1 side is in need of attacking options having sold Ousmane Dembele to Borussia Dortmund at the start of the summer transfer market.
Odegaard would surely be given more first team chances after a season with no senior appearances for the Champions League winners.
