The Naze Millionaires striker has praised his team for their work which has made it easier for him to score more this season as they chase glory on two fronts
Bright Ejike is a hardworking man, full of faith and ready to shift praise for his top form so far to his team mates.
The 22-year-old Heartland striker has scored nine goals in the Nigeria Professional Football League in 16 matches, and two more in the Federation Cup – his latest coming in Wednesday’s victory against Sharks as the Naze Millionaires reached the Round of 16.
“I am happy that my God is supporting my work and also blessing my effort. I owe him the greatest thanks,” Ejike told Goal.
“My colleagues in Heartland too have also been very wonderful. They have made the game look very easy for me and they are part of the reasons why I have scored a little more than I did for the entire season last term.”
He has already dwarfed his achievement of last season where he got six goals in the League and two in the Cup.
With him in front, the Owerri giants and their fans can dream of landing silverware this season, three years after their last Federation Cup win and 22 years since their last League triumph.
“We have our targets firmly in place and I am very happy that our dream is still very much alive in the Federation Cup after our win over Sharks. We will still continue to push our way to the top of the League,” Ejike said.
Heartland currently sit in sixth place with 25 points before they welcome Dolphins in Sunday’s clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.
